They are all different but each one has its own charm. There are quite a few lodging options, my favorite hotels are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/arena-beach.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Arena Beach Hotel, <\/a>and several of Kaani's hotels, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/kaani-grand-seaview.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Kaani Grand Seview Hotel.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are plenty of restaurants with both typical and international food, you can do all kinds of water activities, excursions, snorkeling, diving ... as if you were in a resort but without luxuries :). There are also <em>bikini beach<\/em> and the truth is that it is always quite crowded. Maafushi Island can be reached by ferry from Mal\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a curious fact, this island is home to the most important prison in the country... but don't worry, it's all ok!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fuvahmulah: the island of sharks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This island is the third largest in the country, the longest, the closest to the equator and the island with the largest amount of fresh water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fuvahmulah is paradise if you want to see sharks as a large community of whitetip and gray reef sharks live in its waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To get to Fuvahmulah you must take a domestic flight and my perfect hotel is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/ataraxis-grand-and-spa-fuvammulah.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ataraxis Grand &amp; Spa.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dhigurah: one of the best islands in the Maldives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dhigurah is the beautiful island of Maldives. It has crystal clear beaches and there are many manta rays and whale sharks in the area. It has a beautiful bikini beach not very crowded. It also has something very special, the tongue of sand where two islands meet. I recommend the hotel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/tme-retreats-dhigurah.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">TME Retreat Dhigurah<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can reach the island by ferry from Mal\u00e9 or domestic flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dhiffushi Maldives: a local island with charm and little tourism<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another very quiet local island that you can reach by ferry from Mal\u00e9. In Dhiffushi you can enjoy crystal clear beaches and the best snorkeling. They have<em> bikini beach.&nbsp;<\/em>If you choose this local island in the Maldives, I recommend the hotel<a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/ameera-maldives.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">&nbsp;<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/heron-beach.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Heron Beach,<\/a> right in front of the beach so it's the first thing you see when you wake up :).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gulhi<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gulhi is a local island very close to the island of Maafushi and extremely quiet, perfect if you want to disconnect and be in relax mode all day. Gulhi island can be reached by ferry from Mal\u00e9. My favorite hotel in Gulhi is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/ayala-ocean-view.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ayala Ocean View.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fulidhoo island Maldives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Fulidhoo is a small local island in the Vaavu Atoll, known for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and the authentic charm of Maldivian life. Here, time seems to stand still as you enjoy snorkeling, diving and the warmth of its community. I recommend the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/mv\/kinan-boutique.en.html?aid=8026088&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">hotel Kinan Retreat<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The atolls of the Maldives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Maldives islands are made up of 1200 islands of which only about 200 are inhabited. All these islands are grouped into 26 different atolls. It is the closest atoll to the airport and therefore the one with the best access to reach the resorts quickly by speedboat. It is made up of 82 islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">South Mal\u00e9 Atoll<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It consists of 30 islands of which 17 are private islands with resorts and 3 are islands with local life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is an atoll with very nice beaches and very good area for those looking to dive in Maldives. It has 70 islands of which 28 are resorts, 19 are local islands and the rest are uninhabited islands.
